On Dance & Singing: The body is a musical instrument, like a violin, reed, or drum. Dance is a tool to tune the keys, open the air passage-ways, loosen the skin- or tighten it. The work is to prepare the body to express, to flow and to be a channel for creative energy. To dance is to simply allow the body to move the way it wants to: Serpentine movements, sudden outbursts like a flock of birds, whirling, drumming, stomping, standing still....Dancing to poetry-to silence, dance is expression. Creative spirit flow. The body is a musical instrument; its strings are brushed by the fingers of creation. When aligned, its cords tune to the distant echo of eternity. To sing is to simply open the throat, allowing sound to come out from one's depth. Telling a story with or without words, singing is allowing the soul to speak, feeling it vibrate through every cell of the body.
...To be a tuning fork; harmonizing the inner and the outer realms, coming to terms with emotions and the body, being at home in one’s skin. Finding peace within, and helping each other find it, with musical tones, love poetry, and movement that's born from the collective soul.
